This new discovery, marking a shift in the origins of cacao, is due to a unique ceramic bottle found near the town of Palanda in the province of Zamora Chinchipe. This is an intriguingly shaped bottle containing ancient traces of cacao dating back to 3300-3500 BC. It is an official replica of a vessel called the <strong>\u201ctwo-handled bottle\u201d,<\/strong> a gift from the <strong>Embassy of the Republic of Ecuador in Hungary<\/strong>, personally presented by<strong> Ambassador Cynthia Marie Mayer Zavala.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As is well known, the story of chocolate begins in South America, and recent research has confirmed that the original homeland of the cacao tree is Ecuador.
